Number 1: Invest in Mentoring

Many successful people can attribute everything in life and everything they’ve achieved to some sort of mentorship.

Mentors can lift you up and help you reach new heights.

Imagine, mentors have already been where you want to go and hence can open doors that you cannot open yourself.

And this in itself is invaluable.

Everyone should have a mentor in some shape of form.

It could be someone local, family or friend.

Someone who brings:

• clarity
• accountability
• support
• stimulates new ideas
• looks at things from a different angle

What happens without mentorship?

Can you do things on your own. Yes you can!

However, consider – at what cost?

Perhaps you:

• waste a lot of money to try things out
• waste time and effort that it takes to figure it out on your own
• you lose the feedback support
• have no-one that holds you accountable

So, how do you go about choosing a good mentor?

Remember, it should be someone who can provide clarity, ideas, support, holds you accountable.

Perhaps if you are working in a technical area it could be customized support or a group of peers that are working towards similar goals.

People can gain huge momentum and see what is possible, they interact and bounce off ideas.

This way success becomes contagious!

Number 2 – Set up a business that works around the clock

Here is some food for thought:

The amount of money you make does not have to directly correlate with the amount of hours you work.

I think this is very contrary to what we learn in school, or when you are in a conventional job.

If you look at the most successful companies, they are making sales 24/7.

Quite often, people feel really busy, if they are on the computer 10 hours a day.

It is almost like they are trying to earn a badge of honour and prove themselves, staying up late working on their business.

Long term this could lead to burn out or you are losing enjoyment. You won’t have the time or the energy to do all the fun things you wanted to do, when you first created your business.

So, what is the solution?

 Work to create a business that works around the clock, where you work on it on a daily basis, but not all day long.

This would help you doing more work in a compounded way.

Strive to get maximum output for the time and effort you do put in. This will then have a positive impact on income, family time and your overall quality of life.

Quite often, you’ll make more money by setting up a business that doesn’t require you to clock in clock out to make it work.

 

And that is exactly what I am teaching my clients!
